Show and Share Day

by Chris on September 2, 2011

This week was my last week of summer. (Insert moment of silence here.) Since my last week involved 6 dentist appointments, 2 hair appointments, 2 orientations, a vet appointment, and school shopping, it was far from relaxing!

This is where anxiety starts to set in. How am I possibly going to uphold this blog, work full-time, and be a mom? Oh yeah…and I should probably worry about cleaning this house.

So, I will spend the weekend doing laundry, grocery shopping, and trying to get a jumpstart on some projects. Orrrrrr just trying to finish up old ones. Like this…

And this…

I guess you could always add to my “to do” list by linking up and distracting me from my work. Just a thought. Show off your projects!

I don’t know what it feels like to be home while the kids are gone, but I do know it’ll be a busy year! I’m sure it’ll all get figured out. It always does! :) Thanks for stopping by!

Now that was funny. :) Don’t worry–I probably won’t get it all done!

Oh I know the feeling! I am absolutely spinning right now with all the stuff to be done now that we are back to school! I don’t even want to look at my house right now!!

I just did dishes, and as I was doing them, I thought, “I’m just gonna have to do these again in a couple of hours!” It’s never-ending! :)

I honestly have no idea how you guys do it!! I don’t have a job to go to, nor am I a mom…., and still at times that same thought and feeling of “how am I going to uphold my blog” kicks in.

Reply

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:46 pm

Ugh…I know, Maya. It’s difficult because it’s so overwhelming yet so fun at the same time! I guess we find the balance when we enjoy something enough, eh? :)

In “real life”, I am a teacher. I started my blog this summer and had a blast! Now that I am back to work, squeeeeezing in blog time is tricky!
Thank you for this great par-taaay to kick off my weekend!

Keep your head up lady! I know it can be rough. I don’t even have kids and sometimes I feel like I’m drowning, so I can imagine what you must be going through. Here’s to a relaxing weekend :-)

SIX dental appointments, oh my! I think you did well to just survive, some weeks are just that–surviving. I really enjoy your blog. Just try and pace yourself and remember to breathe.

Good luck this school year! I taught middle school and even though I’ve been out of the classroom for a few years I still get back to school butterflies. Sometimes it is nice to just get started so you can get the first few days under your belt. I swear the week leading up to back to school is the hardest! Hope you get a great group of kids.

Oh, and thanks for hosting. :)

Chris September 2, 2011 at 7:35 pm

Yes! I totally agree. These first few weeks are the WORST and then things find their groove. Thanks for your encouragement!

Here’s hoping your to-do list gets shorter and the routine of going back to school gives you and your family some regular rhythm to your schedule. You’lll get to everything… eventually, right?
Thanks for hosting, dear!

I am a teacher and I completely understand all of your back to school anxieties. School is all consuming and it is difficult to accomplish anything once it goes back in session. We’ve been back for four weeks (three with kids) and I am exhausted! A three day weekend is just what I need. I hope you have a great school year!

Boy do I ever hear you! I am back at school this week, too. Spent the last week at the dentist getting the son’s retainer switched over…shopping…crafting like crazy…attending PD meetings…

No essays to mark, yet, though.

If you figure out the magic solution to time management or manage to figure out cloning, please, please let me know! Hope your first semester goes well.
